The Wipeout

Loggers in the amazonian forest in Brazil had the absolute NERVE!!, to threaten government officials because the government came to take the illegal machinery from the illegal loggers.
So let me get this strait,

1. You illegally come to a territory to destroy the crop, fields, and kill the people
2. Threaten the very people who can put you in jail because they came to seize your material
3. Then get mad and continue to illegally destroy land that does not belong to you??

Let me remind people how important the amazon rain forest is. It is the LARGEST RAIN FOREST ON PLANET EARTH. The second largest is the Congo Basin. And the Third largest is Indonesian Archipelago. One fifth of the worlds

Between May 2000 and August 2006, Brazil lost nearly 150,000 square kilometers of forest—an

area larger than Greece—and since 1970, over 600,000 square kilometers (232,000 square miles) of Amazon rainforest have been destroyed.plants and birds come from the amazonian rain forest. According to mongabay.com:
Indigenous people only want to live in harmony with the forest who have provided shelter, food for them and their ancestors. How would you feel if someone came into your home, decided to take property that you worked so hard to provide for your fam
ily and destroyed it? Or worse, killed you and your children because you refused to leave your home. Well this is what is happening to people/tribes living in the amazon and around it. Not only that, but some activist who fight for the rights of our brothers and sisters have also been murdered. I blogged about a girl who was tied to a tree and burned alive while the loggers laughed. How sick in the head?

The devastation of the tribes who are fighting for their land is describable. The anguish that they deal with on a day to day basis is pure torture in my eyes. I don't understand what this world is coming to. I really don't. How does a government get away with such atrocities? Is money that important? The violence that these children deal with being murdered or watching family members being murdered only because they are protecting what belongs to them is a crime. And we really need to step out of our daily comfort zones and fight for people who are being silenced and even worse, KILLED. We need to raise our voices for those who are facing injustices everyday. Because if it was you and I, im sure you would want someone to stand up for you.

I REALLY LOVE THIS POSTER. IT SAYS PARA! WHICH MEANS STOP!
